As a mom and entrepreneur who happens to also have

As a mom and entrepreneur who happens to also have a full-time job, effective time management is crucial for staying on the top of my game and maximizing productivity.

Here are some amazing tips to help you manage your time more efficiently:

1. Plan Ahead.
Plan your schedule ahead of time. Use productivity tools such as calendars, or project management software to help map out your tasks, deadlines, meetings, and appointments.

2. Time block.
Multi-tasking is a productivity killer. Switching back and forth between tasks is draining and less effective than you may think.
I’ve found that I’m the most productive and effective when I block out periods of time for certain tasks. If you’re interested in reading more about this, check out the book “Deep Work” by Cal Newport, it’s a productivity game changer.

3. Eliminate Time Wasters.
One of my biggest time sucks is social media. While I love to be entertained by y’all, when I have work to do, I have to silence my notifications. Identify and eliminate activities that consume your time without adding much value. For me, it’s social, but for you, it might look like spending excessive time on low-priority tasks.

4. Take breaks and have some fun.
Avoid burnout by taking regular breaks throughout the day. Resting and playing can recharge your mind and body which can enhance your creativity and productivity.

5. Add “no” to your vocabulary.
To maximize your time, you might have to get used to telling folks no. I know it’s not easy for us people-pleasers. But I promise, saying no gets easier with practice. 🙃

If you’re about to join the masses and travel this week, don’t forget to do these 5 things before you go:

1. Tell your credit card companies and bank your travel plans. Doing this will help to avoid having your transactions declined due to suspicious card activities.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Check your smoke detectors to make sure they are working.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Put interior lights on a timer. This helps to give the appearance that someone is at home.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Leave your itinerary with family. This will help to ensure that folks know how to reach you in an emergency.

5. Check all of your windows to make sure they are closed and locked.

I love history which is why we explore the history of the destinations we visit. ⁠⁠
⁠⁠
But for our kids, the world is a playground. While they played on the lawn of the Governor's Palace in Colonial Williamsburg. I was surprised to discover that they had questions on the way home. It seems they were listening during the Paradox of Freedom guided tour. ⁠⁠

So, even though sometimes it seems like they're just playing -- THEY'RE TOTALLY LISTENING AND LEARNING!

While in County Mayo, I stayed at the Lodge next to the famed Ashford Castle, which was once the home of the Guinness Family. The Lodge at Ashford is the 19th Century Celtic lodge/home of the Castle’s estate manager.
